“Ultimate WOP Star”
Terms and Conditions
Waterfalls of Paradise is a unique book exploring 24 Waterfalls of Trinidad and Tobago through a description of the hiking trails, fauna, flora, historical stories attached to the waterfalls and over 100 breath-taking pictures.
This year we are looking for the “Ultimate WOP Star”! Are you game for visiting the Waterfalls highlighted in our book? How many can you visit in 2017? Will you be crowned the ultimate nature enthusiast, adventure seeker and waterfall explorer?
If yes, this challenge is for you!
How to Enter
Entrants may enter the Promotion by completing the following steps before the expiry date of the promotion:
- Register as a participant by sending us your name, contact information and email address. Note: Once registered a photo album will be created especially for you on our Page for the sharing of your photos as your submissions.
- Download our listing of the waterfalls highlighted in the book to track your yearly visits and submit.
- Take a photo at each waterfall you visit throughout the year and share with us via inbox or tags to our Facebook or Instagram Pages (Waterfalls of Paradise: Trinidad and Tobago) with the hashtag #UltimateWOPStarChallenge or email (waterfallsofparadise@gmail.com). (Must use hashtag)
- Provide a written response, 30 words (minimum) on why you love hiking and waterfalls and what makes you the ultimate fan.
The promotion commences 20th January, 2017 and expires at 12 midnight on 10th December, 2017.
Terms of Entry
To be eligible to enter, entrants must:
- Like the Waterfalls of Paradise: Trinidad and Tobago Facebook Page
- Register as a participant by 10th April, 2017
- Be visible in each photo. All photos must be dated/time stamped (camera, phone or phone screenshots)
- Include pictures participating in a minimum of two (2) outdoor clean-up activities (beaches, waterfalls, etc.) for the year
Employees and immediate family members of the Author of Waterfalls of Paradise: Trinidad and Tobago are ineligible to enter. The term “immediate family member” means any of the following: parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or first cousin. The competition is open to hikers and not necessarily hike leaders of the respective hiking groups. In addition, the competition recognizes hikers’ visits to Waterfalls only in Trinidad and Tobago.
Answers submitted must be the entrant’s original work.
THE PRIZE(S)
There is one (1) main prize available to be won in this promotion by the winner, the “Ultimate WOP Star”, the person who visits the most waterfalls mentioned in our listing. The prize comprises of the following:
- i. Book: An autographed copy of Waterfalls of Paradise: Trinidad and Tobago
- Free Hikes: Free hikes with a reputable hiking group (s), redeemable within 6-8 months of receipt

N.B.: The contestant who participates in the most outdoor clean-up activities will be crowned the Ultimate WOP Star, in the event of a draw.
Two (2) special prizes:
“WOP Star” to the person who explores the most “new and unexplored waterfalls.”
“WOP Eco Warrior” to the person, who participates in the most outdoor clean-up activities for the year 2017
The Prizes must be accepted as offered. The Prizes, or any unused portions of the Prizes, are non-refundable, not transferable and not exchangeable for cash or services or any of the prizes providers’ other products or services.
The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow the winners to take part in any or all aspects of the rewards if on the days of the hike are not in the positions, mentally or physically to be able to participate in the taking of the prizes safely or is inappropriately dressed.
By registering, all participants have acknowledged public visibility and use of their photos on our Facebook and Instagram Pages, as well as, website and are in agreement.
